This bill would designate a "unique alphanumeric mark" on each ballot to prevent duplication of election ballots and help prevent election fraud. It's a simple and much-needed step toward decreasing the likelihood that anyone could duplicate or otherwise tamper with a ballot and cheat an election.

Whereas the previous code vaguely stated that "Each ballot contains a unique marking" (which could be anything from a yellow duckie sticker to a smudge), the new code states "Each ballot contains a unique alphanumeric identifier printed on each ballot to prevent duplication of official election ballots."
