H0043 is a simple and straightforward to code that’s otherwise rather complicated. The bill amends existing code (18-3302K) to allow retired law enforcement officers to continue instructing on enhanced concealed carry certifications once they leave a department. Currently, retired law enforcement officers cannot legally teach such courses. Under the change, course instructors can include:

A law enforcement officer, active or retired, who currently possesses or possessed at the time of his retirement an intermediate or higher Idaho peace officers standards and training certificate;
