If you are from Taiwan and live in New York or DC….
Sure you miss fresh passion fruit, but winters kill passion fruit.
Know this…America has a native passion fruit which is cold resistant. Frozen winters are not a problem. (It is called “maypop “ or “wild apricot “. Amazon sells seeds)
You will only get one harvest per year during the autumn.
Problem…passion fruit spreads via roots, so if you plant it, it will spread uncontrollably.
Solution… plant in grow bags, at least 30 gallons of capacity. I planted near a trellis and planted in two 50 gallon grow bags.
I am in Texas, not Taiwan, but I have a papaya tree, I grow 空心菜,luffa sponge 菜瓜 tries to take over my house and…this fall…I will enjoy fresh passion fruit.
