In the attached post, I describe world history’s longest artillery battle and the humorous ways Chinese brothers fight.
One modern surprise….at the beginning of the battle in 1958, the mainland hit Jinmen (Kinmen) with 57,533 artillery rounds fired from 340 artillery tubes in two hours.
So today…a MAJOR product sold on the island of Kinmen (part of the ROC and recently visited by U.S. special forces as if they want a war there)
A major product is the Kinmen Knife made from the steel of those artillery rounds!
Taiwan’s insurrection movement has killed Taiwan’s tourist industry….but the island of Kinmen still hosts mainland tourists. And they buy those knives!
To see the financial potential of re-opening Taiwan to mainland tourists…look at Kinmen today.
