China was making fine china like this during the Song Dynasty, about 1000 years ago. The clay material was subjected to temperatures hot enough to give it glass-like properties.
Notice how light shines through the teacup walls.
After importing fine china from China for about 700 years, Europeans finally copied Chinese technology in the 1700s.
That is why ancient Chinese always thought of Europeans as copycats. (Joking)
