Update for my subscribers
The access issue I encountered on Friday wasn’t related to billcara.ghost.io. I realized I couldn’t access Claude either, and my Ookla speed test showed just 4–8 Mbps download. I reached out to Rogers ISP, and they opened a ticket for a technician—but as of now, I still haven’t heard back.
Over the weekend, my download speeds hovered around 10–12 Mbps, which made producing the Navigator incredibly frustrating. I ended up working until 1:30 AM Friday night and 3:30 AM Saturday to stay on track. I delivered the Navigator because when I give my word, I honor it—but I won’t be putting in back-to-back 20-hour workdays again. At 83, that’s not sustainable, and I’d still like to enjoy my 84th birthday in July.
After a full eight hours of sleep this morning, I redesigned the Navigator—you’ll see it later this week. I also began work on seven new Portfolios I’ll be introducing soon, and I drafted a script for an introductory podcast for my new site at billcara.ghost.io. Now I just need to learn how to actually make a podcast. If you have a curious mind, it’s amazing what you can accomplish today with the help of AI.
A bit of backstory: I developed INSTAT in 2025 while recovering from a major surgery. I had full confidence in my surgeon—the chief surgeon at our local 450-bed teaching hospital—but he warned it would be one of his most difficult procedures, given my age and the extent of the cancer. The hospital stay was longer than expected, and recovery took months, but that time also gave me the space to build INSTAT and explore AI.
‘NotYourAdvisor’ and his fiancée (now wife) attended one of my Bahamas Conferences 17 years ago. He’s followed my work since and encouraged me to move to Substack, which ultimately led me to Ghost. And here we are.
On Wednesday, I’ll return to the hospital for a minor exploratory procedure to check for any signs of cancer recurrence. I’m 99.9% confident I’ll be cancer-free and ready to get back to doing what I love. The Cara Portfolio will be first on my agenda that afternoon.
Thank you, as always, for being on this journey with me.
