What are your favourite music podcasts? Here are some of mine.

Bandsplain is awesome. I love the deep dives into an artist's or an act's back catalogues and biographies. Passionate, relatable but also revealing. Yasi is such a great host. Currently binging the Madonna episodes.

Loud and Quiet's roundtable is good; they are honest with their criticism of new albums, and it doesn't take itself too seriously!

TRV.CVLT.POP, I love the passion, the descriptions, the depth of knowledge across genres and the stream of adjectives, they pull no punches too.

60 songs that explain the 90s, the big brother pod to bandsplain, it's superb. I marvel at the way Rob weaves stop-start cassette tape, critiques of the touchstone songs of the 90s. Stapling it with his diary of growing up and his experiences of hearing these songs for the first time.

Welsh music pod. A really brilliant and informative podcast about music from Wales.

Free with this month's issue, they talk about old compilation CDs you got with magazines with a guest, cutting yet passionate, and a great laugh. I was lucky enough to be a guest once and we talked about Q's essential Chill CD.

Pick a Disc is a really good podcast! Matt Latham is joined by a guest as they deep dive into albums of all genres. I picked a Prefab Sprout album the time I appeared on the pod. pickadisc.transistor.fm…

Others that I really like I could mention Andy VonPip, Indiestry, Loud Women, Over/Under rated, Back to NOW, Chart Music, Endless Scroll, Song Exploder and Switched on to pop.

Also check out my own Show Me Magic where, Jim and I chat about new music and current topics.. with a guest or on our own. ..

Plus my other podcast In The Spotlight, where I interview fascinating artists, authors and figures in music and culture.
