Entering 2023 is exciting and encouraging and i hate to tell everyone this, it's all because of trump. Without his rise to power, those of us on the left would be looking down our noses at the Kristol's and Sykes (and the rest of the Bulwark gang) of the world. We would still be locked into believing our way is the only right way.

Truth be told, every morning, i look forward to reading opinions that differ from my traditional beliefs. I've come to understand the importance of listening to those on the other side of the aisle. More importantly, i've come to believe our path forward is forged from compromise and working toward mutually beneficial goals.

For more than a year now as a subscriber, it is abundantly clear to me the authors on this site have moved closer to the middle and sense much of the same feelings. Without trump, would that ever have happened?
