USPS Agrees to Work With DOGE, Plans to Cut 10,000 Workers

Not sure how much good this will do. USPS service had gone utterly to shit, while costs, prices, and staffing has bloated to previously unheard levels. I myself have had a small package from Walmart stuck in Indianapolis for nearly two weeks, with a total transit time to date of 16 days.

USPS helpfully advises: “In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late.” Thanks for nothing, USPS. When I checked with my local PO, I was told, “Well, Indianapolis is having issues.”

If only the USPS had been this inefficient in delivering phony mail-in ballots during the 2020 election.

I thing the whole thing is unsalvageable. It is utterly controlled by its union and its ingrained culture of inefficiency, laziness, and stupidity. I have a better solution: Sell it to Amazon.

Amazon already has the most efficient logistics system in America. They can literally get a package to your front door in as little as twelve hours (which the USPS was also once able to do…seventy years ago). Hell, Bezos might even find a way to make mail delivery profitable again.
