Collecting Rainwater via Your Roof Gutter?

You might want to consider gutter covers to keep leaves and other debris out of your rain barrel, cistern, or water tank. They can be pricey, but if you shop around you may be able to find reasonably priced do-it-yourself kits.

Non-flammable metal gutter covers can also reduce fire danger. Gutters don’t just collect rainwater. Windblown embers from fires can land in or roll down into your gutter and ignite your shingles or any dry debris that may be caught in your gutters.
