The Black-necked Stilt is a striking shorebird known for its extraordinary proportions—long, delicate bubblegum-pink legs that seem almost too long for its body—paired with sleek black-and-white plumage and a thin, needle-like bill.

Black-necked Stilt is most often found in shallow wetlands, mudflats, ponds, salt marshes, and flooded fields, where it wades gracefully through the water in search of aquatic insects and small invertebrates.
