Happy American Bison-Tennial!10 years ago, our nation decided that the eagle wasn't a sufficient representation of our nation's purpose (to create us all equally) nor promise (to ensure all have all they need to realize the fullness of life, liberty, and happiness). So, the InterTribal Buffalo Council, National Bison Association, and Wildnerness Conservation Fund, after 5 years of prayer and lobbying, 5 years of petitioning Congress, they passed the National Bison Legacy Act to enshrine the bison as our National Mammal, and summon it's guidance for the rough waters ahead. Today we commemorate this moment, 10 years after 5/9/16. A good entry point into the spiritual power of the bison is Ken Burns' PBS documentary, "American Buffalo".
