alias download_mp3="uvx --no-cache --from yt-dlp[default] yt-dlp --extract-audio --audio-format mp3"
I use it on most video/music sites like Youtube or SoundCloud tp download an mp3 version of the content.
(requires ffmpeg)
Useful when you want to listen to something offline, or back it up. uvx makes it nice because it lets you reinstall yt-dlp every time but very quickly. So you are always up to date on counter-measures, but you barely feel the update compared to the total download time.
Of course, it can be adjusted to download the full video as well, which allows you to work around some horrible player experiences like Twitter's. However, I noticed, as I was downloading t.co/ivbVKCq4LC this morning that you have to replace x with twitter in the url.
