The CPC would have us reacting to every insane statement coming out of the Mango Mugabe in Washington. We’d be toadying and sending “delegations” to Trump in a desperate attempt to secure a “deal”, only to have Trump turn around and negate it.

My big issue with the CPC on foreign and defence policy is that they cannot wrap their heads around a basic truth: Trump isn’t a rational actor, he’s purely in this for himself, nothing can be accomplished with him through traditional negotiations, and he doesn’t give a flying fuck about what kind of relationship he has with Canada.

For the love of God, it isn’t time for politics as usual.
