An Origami book is not allowed.
At the advice of a Substack friend (hi, Daniele Sahr), I ordered a simple book of beginner origami and sent it to the prison for my son.
He called yesterday to tell me that they rejected it because he doesn't hold a hobby craft permit.
He does not need scissors for this.
The squares are 6×6 inches.
It's simply paper, and yet, not allowed. They would rather he go insane staring at a wall. They would rather he rot than engage life at all.
*My son has appealed this rejection. Stay tuned.
**UPDATE: They denied the appeal and then charged his commissary account to return it to Amazon. I still have not seen the credit.
