What's that "humourous" quote about the impending doom?.......

I give a bit of a pass to the monies spent during the pandemic......there were crises happening across many industries/businesses. And yes, I get that we can't just spend without regard to future consequences, but I'm always, always shocked that the knee jerk reaction is to yank away any kind of social safety net.
