For all you folks out there concerned that Carney has made a deal with China, here are a few facts…

China first invested in the Canadian oil sands in 2005 and has continued to invest. They own Nexen Inc and have percentage interests in MEG and Northern Lights.

In 2012 Stephan Harper signed FIPA, in Vladivostok Russia, an agreement with China, made in secret that gave China almost unlimited access to Canada with virtually nothing in return.

In 2019 BYD China’s largest EV manufacturers started building electric buses for Canada, IN Newmarket, Ontario, at a time when Doug Ford WAS THE PREMIER.

Canada has a long history of trade deals with China through Liberal AND Conservative Prime Ministers and we still haven’t become a communist country. I’m guessing the buying and selling of anything does NOT necessitate the importation of ideology!

And a word to the Maple MAGA crowd who work the oil sands, it would be a VERY GOOD IDEA if before you complain about Chinese investment in Canada you check out who you actually work for. Chances are it’s partially owned or fully owned by China!
