You don't need to visit every shrine in Europe or master the Catechism. You don't need elaborate prayer routines, Catholic social media validation, or the perfect saint medal collection.
You need the quiet consistency of showing up—at Mass, in Scripture, through service, in silent moments of surrender.
Sanctity isn't found in spiritual achievements. It's discovered in the daily yes.

I really enjoyed doing this little painting on paper, an idea from a 14th c. French manuscript. I called it “Uimoth and the Silmaril,” of fishermen navigating by the sight of Earendil, all while being guarded from below by Ulmo’s pet whale.
I loved the great profusion of elegant fins, which reminded me of the coelacanth.

Inflation in Hungary is about 18% I was reading. That comes from too few people in a capitalist economy. Hungary will self-destruct in my opinion within 30 years. Hungry does have socialized medicine. If we could only get our Christian right-wing racist to move to Hungary, they could all be happy together. There is much poverty and hungry and low wages. As usual, the right doesn't address the real problems, which is supernatural thinking, lying, unlimited greed, financial insecurity, the family unit raising takers and not givers. But the right and Hungary do address brown people and gays and the non-christians. They deserve their own little hell on Earth like our GOP does.
