Now that I have stepped down from my job as. Canadian Ambassador to the UN, I shall be spending more time commenting freely on Substack and other platforms. I am looking forward to it ! Please subscribe and for the time being it’s free.

My focus will be on three things: what’s happening here at home, in Canada, and the dynamic in our relationship with the United States. Second, drawing on my UN experience, what’s happening globally, and what we can do about it, and third, the truly Orwellian moment we are in, and Orwell and his contemporaries and successors help us to see the world more clearly.

I’ll also be talking about the books, movies and commentary of all kinds that have helped me understand things. I hope you find it a worthwhile read.
