The lead guy is an old Columbia professor named Racaniello, and he has awarded himself the title of Earth’s Virology Professor. He was one of the guys in the e-mail chain with Fauci and others that has been revealed through FOIA, even though they went to great lengths to hide their correspondence and used burner phones. We’re four years into their bioweapon and he is one of the loudest voices still pushing the Racoon Dog/Pangolin idea.

I suspect from comments Trump made to Dr Scott Atlas, that he was aware mischief was afoot among CDC bureaucrats. I do not have the proof, but I suspect Trump feared his impeachment if CNN and FOX showed him defying his CDC boss. Cable news was overrun with terroristic propaganda at the time, and the entire Democratic Party were drooling like gallows birds ovee the thought that Trump would be blamed for causing some COVID deaths by not deploying enough ventilators. When New Jersey's "opioid-free hospitals" racked up the second-highest per capita death rate by force intubation of patients without anesthesia and they bled to death getting cut by the ventilator tubes, NJ Governor Fats Christie managed to distract all attention away from his disaster, and suddenly all the Democrats shut up about ventilators.
