Postgame quotes following 3-4 OT Loss (Seattle):

————————————————————

Corey Perry:

On the game ending with a broken stick:

"We had our opportunities before that [broken stick] to maybe grab that extra one, but we battled hard to come back & get the point. We'll move forward."

On the resilience shown from the Bolts:

"Once the emotion got up a little bit, I think that's when we played our game...the emotion comes with it and that's when we're at our best. I could see we started to take over the game a little bit...we had the puck a lot more. It's part of our game, and it's what we have to be."

On the 32 blocked shots from Seattle:

"Yeah, I guess you can say they play five pretty tight. But, at the same time, we have to find a way to get a couple of those through. A couple extra get on net and you never know what can happen...those are the things we talk about all the time."

On how he's feeling & if he's having problems in skirmishes:

"No issues. I think I took a punch tonight...you know, it's just hockey. Those things happen, and I'm not going to back down just 'cause I've a cut on my face."

Charle-Edouard D'Astous:

When did you feel the team felt the emotion & got more engaged:

"Maybe after the 1st period. I thought we were soft in the 1st period & playing through the motions. Like Perry said, once we got into the game, involved emotionally, we took over."

On the game ending with a broken stick:

"I think we put ourselves in that position. We didn't have a good 1st period. At the beginning of the 2nd, we're down 3-1. If we start at the beginning & we don't put ourselves in that position, we probably leave the rink with 2 points. It's part of the game; we gotta learn from it."

On the 32 blocked shots from Seattle:

"That's on us a little bit. Obviously, they block a lot of shots, but we need to be better at hitting the net. Good for them, but a part of that is on us, too."

On finding emotion early in the game:

"It shouldn't be too hard right now. We're fighting for a playoff spot; every game is so important. We have to find a way to be ready at the start of the game."

Jon Cooper:

On falling behind & coming back:

"Why are we falling behind? That's my problem. Hey listen, stick taps, we came back...you hope good teams can come back. But, we didn't close it out...I've learned sometimes you can win the game & not the score. The pivotal thing is you gotta win the score, and we didn't do it."

On the difficulty of finding emotion:

"It is [hard to find emotion]. I can be rattled up here that we lost, but I can also look at it like we went on the road & haven't lost in regulation in the last 6, playing some pretty emotion games with a lot of travel in there. Listen, we need points to keep our head above water. They [Eastern Conference] keep getting them. So, you wanna be greedy & get them both, but we had our chances & had our looks. We just didn't have the pop we usually have."

On the 32 blocked shots from Seattle:

"That's not a good stat. Again, you have the puck on your stick. You have the opportunity to get it through. A lot of other times, too, if you're getting a lot of shots blocked, then you're thinking too much; you're not instinctively shooting; you're not ready. When you take your time, you allow shot blockers to set up...but, I mean, come on..that's more on us than them."
