Seems like those reports about Trump worrying about losing votes from suburban women were correct! And it also seems like he did something about his worries: To borrow from Douthat in 2008, he made conservative Christians a fig leaf for an increasingly secular party that, when push comes to shove, is pro-choice because the secular side of the party—Trump & co.—is in the driver’s seat.
