Indeed, there are all kinds of ethical questions on which the Bible is thus “silent”—and citing that silence as Talarico did here is an answer I’d expect from a finagling 17-year-old trying to argue for his God-given right to smoke weed, not a grown man (a seminarian!) running for the U.S. Senate.
