Make money doing the work you believe in

My senior year at a Christian school, my class lobbied for a beloved science teacher take our final Bible class instead of whoever regularly would’ve taught it. The administration allowed it, and he blazed us through the required (boring) workbook in about three weeks. Then we spent most of the rest of the year going verse by verse, clause by clause, through Galatians. It blew our minds. Even the kids who had never paid attention in Bible class before were on the edge of their seats. This teacher was Reformed, and most of us were not, and he’d get into it with us on the predestination debate in a way that we just adored. The experience was a real factor in my decisions, years later, to go to seminary and write about faith.
