In the last five years I’ve taken maternity leave, returned to work, gotten promoted, traveled, moved, grown a team, gotten pregnant again, quit my job, become a SAHM, added in part-time consulting, and started a storytelling platform.
The experience has made something very clear: for all the conversations we have about motherhood and work, there are still so many things missing for parents — more honest dialogue, more education around the different paths people can take, and more spaces where we can come together to learn from each other as we navigate it all.
That realization is what led me to build Both& & and along the way it also led me to Kelly Ling.
So today — on my celebration of becoming a mom 5 yrs ago — I’m incredibly excited to share something we’ve been building together.
We’re opening registration for the Career, Care & Connection Summit, a four-day (pop-in as you can) virtual gathering in May dedicated to the kinds of conversations, insights, and community many parents wish they had when navigating career and caregiving.
We’ll be diving into topics like taking career breaks, building consulting or entrepreneurial paths, what the future of flexible work actually looks like, storytelling and personal brands, and designing real support systems for modern families.
These sessions are lead by incredible speakers (maybe you’ve heard of them??? 😜) like Anne Welsh, PhD, PMH-C, PCC , Leslie Forde, Cat Canada, 🏡 Kim Rohrer (she/her) , Elles Skony , Suzanne Slaughter , Kasi Riley , Kate Sargent , Alexa Starks , Jess Ringgenberg , Ashley Chang Dawson , Tamara Hinckley, Alison Campbell …… I could go on but let’s just say, many more.
Tickets are intentionally affordable so more parents can participate, and a portion of proceeds will support The Labor Club, an organization that empowers expecting and new mothers who have experienced involuntary job loss to return to the workforce with confidence.
