Kay. Had to pause reading many times just to continue this comment. I remember being in Catholic school, but never got sex-ed. Granted, it was only for 7th-8th grade. I was a complete pariah and for 9th grade I chose to go to a girl's high school (stopped being into girls the second I saw a boy with a face full of freckles that I had a massive crush on in 1st grade), so sex was never even on my radar.

I do remember my first time. I was 24. He was Turkish. A Muslim. Combined irony. I remember looking at the church nearby through his apartment window (where we would actually do the deed in the parking lot in his car a few months later one afternoon, because a mom was visiting and he didn't want to be caught in front of his roommates and their mama fornicating) whilst pulling my Hanes down, and feeling a sudden similar Catholic guilt. My parents tried to force me to go to church for a bit. Especially during my awkward goth phase. I remember laughing at the idea that I was sinning. He definitely did not know what the flimflam he was doing and I remember the cooter burn latex gave me (I should have known because I always got very inflamed around the wrists when cleaning with latex gloves at home when I did chores. Especially when the gloves got wet!) That hurt for a few days. He turned out to be a filthy cheater, so that was one of the shortest relationships I have ever been in. I look back on it and laugh.

Working with people 55+ now has sparked me to DO, more than anything in my life thus far. I can't imagine wasting any more time being afraid to go out and do, even if I'm not the best at the things I want to do. I never worked the Christmas shifts, but that place kind of forced me out of some very longterm depression because I realized how much worse life could be.
