This is a clear example of why due diligence is important. As a minor podcaster and an internet “personality” (lacking in both personality and vast amounts of influence) I feel it is my duty to investigate ANY company for the products I promote on INVESTIGATE EVERYTHING. What scares me about this article is that these podcasters either chose not to do due diligence before endorsing a company so fraught with questionable issues (according to Consumer Diligence’s other reports on All Family Pharmacy), their PR teams chose not to perform due diligence, or they DID perform due diligence and decided to endorse All Family Pharmacy anyways. We as podcasters and show hosts have a responsibility to our audiences to do the work, perform the due diligence, and promote companies that we have verified and therefore we trust. Why? Because I assume my audience trusts me, especially with a show called INVESTIGATE EVERYTHING. If we lose trust, we lose you, and rightfully so. If you only investigate your show topic and not the company helping to pay for your show through affiliate sponsorships or direct sponsorship, how can an audience ever trust that you other work is free from bias, free from influence, or is even accurate. Do the work, fellow hosts, or leave the space.
