We can see the finish line. Jesus and the prophets said to look for specific signs that would indicate the end times and the Second Coming of Jesus at the end of the seven-year Tribulation. We can see those signs now, and Jesus said, "When you see all these things, you can know his return is very near, right at the door" (Matthew 24:33).
Because we see these signs emerging and converging, we can know these events are drawing near, and that means the rapture of the church (which occurs before the Tribulation) is even closer. So do everything you can to share the hope you have in Jesus Christ. None of us know how much time we have left. Regardless of the timing of the rapture, our next breath could be our last - so take advantage. When you're running a race, and you can see the finish line, it's not time to slack off and rest. It's time to sprint. It's time to finish well.
Let it be said of every one of us:
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me — the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing." (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
If you eagerly look forward to His appearing, a crown awaits you - a crown you'll one day have the pleasure of casting at the feet of our glorious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! So keep working. Yes, the world is dark. But we are overflowing with joy and hope, because Jesus has overcome the world.
