This made me very very sad. This writer’s suggestion that nearly every writer is secretly using AI is (as a fellow WGA writer) patently untrue. This is an exercise in letting yourself off the hook. AI is a plagiarism machine, it destroys our environment and makes us stupider. I’m not holding out from some staunch sense of moral superiority, I’m holding out because what’s the fucking point of being human writer and writing about the experience of being alive if you’re going to use the very thing that ultimately aims to distill that spirit for profit? I don’t want the leg up. I’ll suffer in my humanity
