Dan, thank you so much for sharing this, I really enjoyed it! Just the trip down memory lane. I remember watching "All in the Family" (I called it Archie Bunker), "The Jeffersons," and "Sanford and Son" with my dad. What great television. My sister and I were similar, though I wish we had recorded some of what we did. We would improv plays with characters that we made up named Duke and Duke (don't ask). Holidays, vacations, family reunions, no one had to ask us to perform. We entertained ourselves for hours that way. Sometimes just talking about what Duke and Duke would do next, making up back stories, etc. I haven't thought about that in years, but looking back sometimes I wonder where that little kid went. Middle School, puberty, knowing you’re "different" and wanting to fit in made me bury this part of myself. Perhaps he's resurfacing in my writing.....
