ICE is never never land for incapable losers. it’s a utopia for guys who can’t get ahead with looks or ideas because god was conserving both when he made them. it’s the perfect delusion for this sort of guy. actually, you aren’t unremarkable! you are powerful, your biases are righteous, your country needs you, thank you in advance.

it’s a return to purpose, a feeling they haven’t had since high school sports when they imagined that they mattered and that things would only get better. but they don’t and things didn’t and it’s somebody else’s fault.

it’s even better than being a cop because there’s less training, somehow fewer rules, and no boring traffic stops or other nuisances to stand in the way of The Good Stuff — enacting violence on people who can’t fight back.

I wonder when they get to Hell if they’ll mistake it for Heaven, because finally nobody is doing better than them.
