I wouldn't doubt that Putin has something on Trump, but I think many Republicans have just been trying to stay on the right side of his voters. Republicans who stand up to Trump have tended to get threats of violence, and then get voted out, and MAGA world gloats about taking them down. Would any dirt that Trump might have on any Republican be more intolerable to the base than getting cross-wise with Trump?
