It was a depiction of women that made me wonder if I was defective, or if I had some kind of daddy issues that made me insufficiently annoyed by the presence of men. I knew that if I were single, I would have wanted men to approach me, as long as they weren’t disrespectful, but I was reminded repeatedly that women don’t actually want this.
