Oh, what another impossible task you have given us!! At least, for me it is. After having undoubtedly driven over 500,000 miles in my life wandering around this country, I can probably think of at least a thousand places I'd love for people to "discover". Everything from hidden wilderness spots to awesome cityscapes - each one speaking to a different feeling, a different moment in time, and to a different person. That said, if I had to offer one wish of discovery for everyone, it would be to spend a night in a tent in a remote, dark sky location. The explosion of stars overhead and the silence of the desert is an experience beyond words, reminding us of just how small we are - yet at the same time, how intrinsically connected we all are to this amazing Universe. And so I chose this pic, snapped from a Bortle 2 campsite in the remote Utah desert, as the light from our own yellow-dwarf star begins to fade. ✨
