Like almost anything, once you fall behind, catching up becomes almost an impossibility. According to Yiyun Li’s Tolstoy Together: 85 Days of War and Peace, I should have finished the novel today but instead I’m just barely at the halfway point.

I’ve finished Volume II, the longest section of the book, and have arrived at page 600 out of 1215 and am about to start Volume III.

I have reached the summit and it’s all downhill from here so it should go faster, yes?
