Today, I decided to work on an editing outline for Rapture, the novel I plan to serialize on here. This implies rereading the book looking for flaws. And, man, there are so many. It shouldn’t be such a subversive reality: I wrote this first draft in 19 days. But, oh do I ache to just scrap it and rewrite it. I know, however, that this is just a perfectionistic instinct that I need to silence. Editing takes time and polishes take many passes. A first draft is never perfect. And some need more love than others. That’s okay too.
