every few months or so, I go back to the idea that there should be a food column about what you SHOULDN’T cook at home. like, instead of trying to give readers home version hacks for things that are better handled by professionals or enjoyed, as a treat, at a restaurant or from a bakery, we tell them not to bother because it’s simply not cost/time efficient or it won’t ever be as good. (this would be the ultimate no-recipe recipe column. LOL.)

and I know it sounds like I’m trying to be funny or contrarian, but I think about this seriously. as a form of service journalism.

is that bonkers?
