My addition to the Nigel Farage/Count Binface discourse is the moment I remember from Strong Message Here, the Armando Iannucci R4 program/podcast about political language.

A comedian (apologies, I forget her name) described how she’d found herself in a green room with Farage and, to make conversation (as you’re not allowed to maim other guests) explained her job.

Farage replied: “I don’t find comedy funny.”

Which left her totally nonplussed. “It’s like saying you don’t find food nutritious,” she marvelled afterwards.

I’ve always borne that “I don’t find comedy funny” line in mind since. It explains a lot.
