“Guts” by Chuck Palahniuk & Flannery O’Conner’s “A Good Man is Hard to Find.” Mr. Palahniuk’s substack introduced me to writing. In school I focused on business writing and general school essays. I always did well but I assumed fictional writing was not in the cards for me… Then I read “Guts” I was floored by the humor, pace, and the exploration of the taboo. I originally joined substack because I thought I would get tips on how to edit and communicate a bit more clearly in general…and then BAM! I found out I could write fiction and I will always be chasing “Guts” and “A Good Man is Hard to Find” and that makes me happy! I just love it!
