Great question. MVRV and NUPL are indeed similar, and the main reason I use MVRV is the scale is often easier to use. Since NUPL goes negative, you cannot display it on log scale, which means it can he harder to plot and see nuanced details.

Technically both are the same, but it comes down to personal preference. Mine just happens to be MVRV.
