Blessed Holy Week to all—

With Holy Week approaching, I was thinking of sharing a short daily meditation from St. Thomas Aquinas. Nothing from me—just his wisdom—but I’d do my best to walk you through it and help you understand it. Would that interest you?

If I were here on a green card, I could be arrested for posting this article. Or for anything at all. Or for nothing.

If I were Palestinian, I could be deported to the killing fields of Gaza for the crime of acknowledging that they exist. Or for the crime of being Palestinian.

This is insightful. As a Catholic — a cradle Catholic, but an intellectual one — I spent a long time jumping, like Qoheleth, from one pursuit to another in order to find meaning, to “prove” myself, as it were. That included a lot of intellectual pursuits and attempts to master Catholic theology.

It would be nice to see the guilty swing from the gallows on the Washington Mall. However as history has shown that wish is optimism over reality. However for those with faith, Hell is open for all the scoundrels. FJB

Life has a way of stripping everything from us. In a certain way I agree. He has given us all free will to live and do as we wish. I won’t get into much here except to say He gets involved in our personal lives only as much as we let Him in but he will do His will. No matter your or my opinions. Our will isn’t the last word on anything

Do you see the internal contradiction in what you wrote? That your first sentence is your opinion which your second sentence nullifies? The mysterious Creator saw to it that the truth can only be known by the absence of contradiction.

“Do you see the internal contradiction in what you wrote?” Of course I did and do Ben. You’re pretty easy.

This is your original, honest, much appreciated reply that landed in my inbox before you went into Shadow and edited it to suit your Shadow's persona:

“Do you see the internal contradiction in what you wrote?” I didn’t realize Ben. Thanks for pointing it out

Sure was until I gave it some real thought do you want a gold star?
