Another list of new songs to listen to.

We are certainly in a transition phase at this point.

The new version of CHILLFILTR is slowly getting up to speed. I am about 20% of the way through the data migration, so this right here, ladies and gentlemen, is a good example of why subscribing to this newsletter is important. This list of new songs won't make it to chillfiltr.com until the new version is rolled out and that may not be for another month or two.

We are changing the submission process yet again, but I will share those details when everything is finalized. For now, just enjoy this short list of new songs that have made it onto my desk since our last round-up in December.

Most of these names are not particularly well-known, I think perhaps the stand out of this bunch is Stephen Wilson Jr., with a solid deal on Big Loud Records. I think this kind of Nashville-designed Country Pop (now with 20% more grit!) is not for everyone, and if it was up to me, I would lose the catchphrase “Death Cab for Country” because that is somehow silly, nonsensical, and pretentious all at the same time, but hey, maybe that's what you gotta do to get ahead these days. In any case, Cuckoo is a reasonably good song, and very appropriate to the current political environment.
