I often see this online take that The New York Times isn’t a newspaper. It’s a games and recipe company with news tacked on. I don’t think that’s particularly insightful given that news has always been about bundling. Part of the reason you got the physical newspaper was the news. But it was also for sports scores, classifieds, comics, crosswords, and a million other things. Bundling was and remains the business!
