BREAKING: The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday granted the Callais plaintiffs' request to issue the judgment in the Louisiana redistricting case now, meaning the ruling goes into effect and back to the district court immediately.

This was done over a strong dissent from Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson — prompting Justice Sam Alito, joined by Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch, to author an opinion concurring with the grant.
