BREAKING: U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan granted the special counsel’s unopposed request on Friday, as a result of the presidential election, for the briefing schedule in the Jan. 6 case against Donald Trump in federal court in D.C. to be vacated.

Per the request, this is “to afford the Government time to assess this unprecedented circumstance and determine the appropriate course going forward consistent with Department of Justice policy.”

In reality, this is, in short, the beginning of the end of this case.
