After spending a weekend at home visiting my parents in Long Island, I couldn’t help but reminisce about the old stores that once graced our neighborhood and the milestones associated with them. I vividly recall buying my first bike at K-Mart, my college comforter at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and my first suit at JC Penney. All these places are now gone, but they aren’t left vacant.
