We say we will never do something because it’s too far outside of our comfort zones, or seems too hard. Whatever the reason, it’s in the harder places that we don’t expect that we often find the most growth. There’s a phrase, “in the cave you fear to enter, lies the treasure that you seek.”1 That was certainly the case for me when it came to my time living in Europe.
