I’m going to say something that shouldn’t be controversial but will be. If you are a Christian, you can support border control and immigration being legal vs illegal. You CANNOT celebrate deportations and get off on the cruelty, and be a real Christ follower. Period

Had a chance to see Steve McQueen’s latest, BLITZ. A strong emotional film in the vein of John Boorman’s HOPE AND GLORY but it centers around a mixed race kid who is evacuated during the Luftwaffe air raids in 1940’s London. Perhaps a been-there-done-that film, but with the narrative focusing on a Black boy’s struggle to survive it feels fresh (and refreshing). These kind of movies don’t get made in the US any more, they’re not box office busters, but that’s a inane metric to decide to chase when stories like this can exist.
How likely is it…that a man who has never read a book, and whose attention span means he can’t take in anything that’s more than a page long……
