Israeli police released video Thursday of a man kicking a 48-year-old French nun on Mount Zion. The Latin Patriarchate is calling it a “repulsive and barbaric hate crime.”

This comes a week after Israeli soldiers were caught beating an icon of the crucified Christ down to the ground with a sledgehammer.

These are not the first attacks on Catholics or sacred spaces in or by Israel this year.

Pope Leo XIV is calling for an end to the violence.
