I love the way in Matthew 5 Jesus basically says,

“So, you know how you and others have twisted my word to affirm and encourage your selfish, even wicked desires? Yeah, well, I’m here to offer some clarification.”

While convicting, reading it daily is a reminder of how vulnerable we are to misusing God as a tool to further our personal agenda, and he’s not fooled or having any of it.
